What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.
Romans 8:31-33 NLT
In every moment, in every season of life God is for us. God is not only for us when we 'do' all things right - only when we have a sense of accomplishment of making it through a stretch of near perfect human performance. God is also for us in the seasons of failure and perceived defeat. God is ALWAYS for us. His 'for-us' is not based on our ability to earn His approval but is based on His eternal love for us. The truth is that "... God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8).
As we meditate God's divine unlimited-by-human-behavior love, we become more and more persuaded of God being for us. Nothing can hold Him back from loving us. No one can bring a 'stumble' on God and make Him trip-up in changing His mind about us. God has already, in all eternity, established His truth that God loves people, because God is Love. No one and no thing can alter the nature of God. God is eternally the same for ever. His nature is unchanging. The writer of Hebrews writes of the immutability of God's nature in giving us His loving saving promise: "God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us." (Hebrews 6:17,18 NLT).
By stretching His beloved Son on the cross, God has stretched forth before us His love - for there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for his friends (John 15:13). As we look on the cross we see His outstretched hands of loving acceptance towards us. He has shed His blood to cleanse us of all sin so that we now draw close to Him. God has broken His living bread, His body, so that we be partakers of wholeness today. God is for us!
Believe and know His love for you so that you be forever set free from all condemning thoughts that want to disqualify you from the love of God. God's love for you is working a far greater freedom and acceptance than the binding of the tormenting lies of you 'not-being-good-enough'. His love has nothing to do with your 'goodness' but is a demonstration of His goodness towards you. His love is unearned grace divine that reaches to the darkest moment of your life and shines forth His glorious light. God's light always shines out of darkness (2Cor. 4:6). Be confident today that no mess-up, no trip-up, no back-slide can bar you from the love of God. Stand-up by believing and receiving His love today and be found walking forward in the plan of God for your life. God is for you and never against you!
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
